Fun at the Lake/Games & Activities

Disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with the people who are most important to you on our 8 acre property on the shores of Bobs Lake in South Frontenac, Ontario. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, we have all the good old-fashioned fun you’re craving.

Water-Based Activities

The lake is why you’re here! And we’ve got you covered with endless ways to explore the largest (and, we think, most beautiful) wilderness lake in rural Ontario.

Swimming in Bobs Lake

Just feet from your cottage is beautiful Bobs Lake, where it’s hard to resist a refreshing swim in the warm water. Our lakefront has no weeds and the water is clean and deep – perfect for swimming during the high season. Swim out to the swimming platform and jump in, then relax in the sun on our sandy beach.

Fishing at Bobs Lake

Whether fishing from the dock or out on a boat – on your own or with a guide – we have superb fishing at Bobs Lake. Lake trout, bass, walleye or pickerel, perch, pike, and sunfish can all be found on the lake’s nearly 200-kilometer shoreline. We also have a fish cleaning hut so you can prepare your fresh catch for a delicious meal.

Bobs Lake Watersports

You can swim right from the shore and fish right off the dock, but there is also no end to the water toys at your disposal. Get out on the water and discover what makes Bobs Lake and the surrounding wilderness so special.

Land-Based Activities

At Bobs Lake Cottages & Escapes, you don’t have to be on or in the water to have a good time. We have so many fun-filled amenities on our property that’ll keep you on dry land.

Biking

The use of our bikes is complimentary! We also have helmets for your use.

Kids’ Playground

Relax on the deck or by the beach while the kids explore the children’s playground. We have swings, a teeter-totter, a slide, a sandbox, and a spring horse.

Basketball and Pickleball

Our cemented court invites a little friendly competition. During your stay, you can play basketball or pickleball – or both!

Ping Pong, Pool Table, and Air Hockey

We have ping pong and billiards available for everyone to use, and if you’re a guest at the Lake House Lower, you’ll also enjoy the use of an air hockey table.

Tiki Bar

When you stay with us, we’ll welcome you with refreshments at the Tiki Bar. Sangria for the adults and milkshakes for the kids – it’s a great way to start your vacation! We also have an activity area with a stage, perfect for bingo nights and karaoke. (Yes, we have a karaoke machine!)

The K&P Trail

Bobs Lake Cottages & Escapes is situated 40 minutes from the Frontenac K&P Trail. (Badour Island Retreat is even closer, at 25 minutes.) Open year-round, the trail offers both an off- and on-road route for recreation and active transportation. It also has a range of scenic experiences through natural open landscapes, rock cuts, wetlands, and historic Kingston. It’s popular for hiking, biking, and ATVs.

Birdwatching

Bring your binoculars! Bobs Lake and its surrounding area are home to many species of birds, such as ospreys, rose-breasted grosbeaks, black and white warblers, bald eagles, eastern towhees, yellow-rumped warblers, and scarlet tanagers.

Hot Tubs

There’s nothing like ending busy lake days with a relaxing soak in a bubbling lakeside hot tub. There are multiple hot tubs on our property, including private hot tubs for each cottage.

Winter Activities at Bobs Lake

If you’re visiting in the winter, the lake magically transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with your own ice rink. Learn more about winter at Bobs Lake.
